12.11.2023 Motivation Mondays: The Care & Generosity Issue

Welcome to the special end-of-year Care & Generosity Issue as we begin to wind down and reflect on the year. In the face of the range of coinciding global crises, a little ring of light in the depths of winter of togetherness and generosity makes December a little sweeter. I’m grateful for living in a neighborhood with all four seasons and blossoms blooming year round. December brings Cornelian cherry buds, white and pink daphne, and violet rosemary blooms, hence the design inspiration for this issue.

Today, with one of my clients, we convened a group of some of the most transformational creatives shaping pop culture, translating research into action. My main takeaway from this convening is how 2023 is the product of a massive pop culture expansion of care and caregiving in our consciousness. This is mainly due to the intentional work of Caring Across Generations, a concerted organizing effort to influence a range of representations of caregivers and how its nuances have been embedded into Hollywood and beyond.
